White Rock Raceway's
~ Racing Series ~

The White Rock Racing Series developed from the Friday night weekly racing held at White Rock Raceway. This raceway offered a fountain of young blood, as well as,  a lot of experienced racers all seeking a common goal... to have fun and enjoy HO Slot Car Racing. The series and club developed from this interest. White Rock Raceway hosts 4 routed tracks, and sponsors events at many local area race track in the area. The WR Racing Series runs several series which currently are the RockJet, NASCAR, and Trans-Am classes. The schedule and locations for each race is still being determined, as they will be hosted at various locations throughout the local Maryland Region. As this is finalized, information about the individual tracks, as well as, a Racing Schedule will be made available.

White Rock Series/Classes

ThunderJet 500 Classes

A. RockJet Series
This is a Super-Stock class that allows dewound and balanced arms measuring at 16.0 ohms or greater, any front/rear axle/wheel/tire combination and any pancake style magnets. For a full explanation of the RockJet rules please see the rules page.

B. NASCAR
This a Stock T-Jet class that allows any Aurora pancake style magnets with stock arms measuring 16.0 ohms or greater and any front/rear axle/wheel/tire combination set at 1 1/8" maximum width. Bodies must weigh 3 grams or more and represent actual cars that ran the NASCAR series from 50-72. For a full explanation of the NASCAR rules please see the rules page.

C. Trans-Am
This is a Super-Stock T-Jet class that allows any dewound and balanced Aurora or JL motor measuring 5.0 ohms or greater, any front/rear axle/wheel/tire combination set at 1 3/16" maximum width. Bodies must weigh 3 grams or more and represent actual cars that ran the Trans-Am series from 66-72. For a full explanation of the Trans-Am rules please see the rules page.

D. Modifieds
This is Super-Stock T-Jet class that allows any armature, magnets, gears and front/rear axle/wheel/tire combination. For a full explanation of the Modified rules please see the rules page

E. Johnny Lighning

F. Fray
This T-Jet class uses the Fray in Ferndale Rules that allows stock Aurora and Johnny Lightning pancake style magnets with stock arms measuring 16.0 ohms or greater and any front/rear axle/wheel/tire combination set at 1 5/16" maximum width. Racing Order:

1. Races will be run as established by our Racing Schedule.
2. If there is only one track available all practicing cars will be of the type being run next.

3. Practice will be available for other classes prior to their race.

Tech and Car Maintenance:

1. All cars will be teched prior to the actual race for both weight and width. Modifications and changes are allowed to be made at the racer's own risk.
2. All cars will be returned to impound after the Main.
3. If a car requires maintenance, one 3 minute period per Semi/Main will be provided and may be supervised.
4. If a car fails during the race the race will not be stopped.
5. Normal maintenance like oiling and tire cleaning can be performed during the race by the racer only in front of his race position. The race will not be stopped for such maintenance. This maintenance may not be performed during a track call.
6. Maintenance can be performed during the race and up to 3 minutes in between the heats as per previous rule.
7. A broken body must be fixed or replaced before starting a heat. If a body looses parts during the race that would deem it illegal then it must be fixed prior to running the next heat.
8. The top four/six finishers (depending on the number of lanes) in the Mains will have their cars completely re-teched to ensure race integrity. If possible this tech will be performed by a member not in the top group.

Marshals:

1. Every racer will be available to marshal upon request.
2. Time for working on cars will be provided between events so as to not interfere with marshaling.
3. Refusal to marshal when requested will disqualify the racer for the day.
4. ONLY marshalls shall handle a car during a race unless no marshall can reach the car in question.
5. ONLY marshalls shall remove/return a car from the track at the end/beginning of a heat.

Membership is $10.00. This will be applied towards individual race prizes, championship trophies, and upon approval by vote, upgrades or other such items needed by any affiliated track. Membership is not required for participation but is required to be eligible for the championship. Likewise, only W.R.R.S. members will be viewed as Voting Members for the W.R.R.S. Club.

Race Fee is $4.00 per race day. This covers the hosts' costs for chips, sodas, etc and/or securing a raceway for the day. This fee is independent of the number of races participated in even if you don't race and just eat..
 

Points will be awarded according to finishing position, regardless of the finishing position of non-members, but only W.R.R.S. members will have their points count towards the championship.
