History: Colonists form the North American continent of Terra first settled Procyon in 2134. Because of its rugged terrain and proximity to Terra, it quickly became a major stronghold of the Terran Alliance, and remained a major naval base during the years of the Star League. In the early 28th century, Oliver Marik and his supporters resided on Procyon to plan the actions that eventually led to the Marik Civil War. Sixty years later, the planet fell to Free Worlds military forces shortly after the exodus of General Kerensky.

Though Procyon’s location, raw manpower, and substantial gemstone and fossil fuel reserves have made it a frequent bone of contention between Marik and Liao forces, most natives of Procyon take a lackadaisical view about the outcome of these struggles. Despite over 200 years of Free Worlds control, the world retains most of the customs of the Terran hegemony. The most telling image of Procyon’s indifference is the sprawling, long-abandoned Brigadier Corporation’s Mech production complex at Cleveburg – a symbol of the planet’s glorious past, trapped within a desolate present.

During the years of the Terran Hegemony, the SLDF maintained a garrison force of 3 regiments, made up of both battlemech and conventional forces. The garrison’s main role was to protect both the Brigadier and Earthwerks R&D and production sites. The latter's facilities, located 3000 miles due west of the "old capital" Sheitin, were destroyed when the planet collided with its smallest moon five years before General Aleksandr Kerensky led the Exodus fleet away from the Inner Sphere. Prior to the Exodus, the SLDF forces destroyed the 3 Brian Castles on the planet. The current capital of Guilded Halls is said to be built upon the ruins of one of the castles. The second was located in the Unspoiled Isles and the third was also located on Greene, built in the second mountain range near the equator. Conflicting reports have kept all attempts to locate the latter site hidden for almost 300 years.

Culture: Most "Procyans", as the populace is called, do not believe in warfare. They are content to allow themselves to be ruled by just about anyone, as long as their way of life is not threatened. This is precisely the reason that they have culturally evolved little since their days in the Terran Hegemony. However, over the past 20 years, with the increases made in economic growth and the presence of the 1st PHG, many of the world's youth have sought to change the status quo. Many have either left Procyon altogether, or have sought to join either the 1st PHG, or many of the new government offices.

Geography: Despite this frequent changing of hands, however, the natives of Procyon have retained a fairly indifferent attitude toward conquerors, clinging to most of the customs handed down from the days of the long-vanished Terran Hegemony. The greatest sign of this planetwide sense of apathy was the long-abandoned Brigadeer Corporation ’Mech factory in the virtual ghost city of Cleveburg. Located on the pockmarked and rocky southern continent of Halbiero, this factory and its surrounding city experienced a small revival when Earthwerks finally decided to purchase and restore the decrepit complex in the 3050s.

Today, Procyon is a largely agricultural world of sparsely populated farmlands and forests, though the new Earthwerks-Procyon Engineering Vehicles plant produces and exports enough industrial vehicles and ’Mechs to form a secondary planetary industry. The less mountainous supercontinent of Greene, home to the majority of Procyon’s small cities and large agro-plexes, is located just north of Halbiero, and extends into the planet’s polar regions. The capital city of Guilded Halls, located on Greene, along the Wantu River, also boasts Procyon’s largest spaceport and the nearby ruins of a Star League-era Castle Brian that was destroyed during the Amaris crisis by an orbital bombardment. Aside from Greene and Halbiero, the bulk of Procyon’s surface land takes the form of the Unspoiled Isles, a chain of miniature island-continents stretching along the southern hemisphere, east of Halbiero. The Unspoiled Isles are heavily wooded, but dotted with the remains of abandoned cities and destroyed Castles Brian, a nearly forgotten vestige of the days of the Star League.

Planetary Lord: Duke Ian MacKenzie, maintains strong ties to the Federated Commonwealth and is a strong supporter of the Davion/Steiner alliance. Shortley after arriving on Procyon in 3030, Ian MacKenzie married Michelle Severenson (now 45 yrs old, KIA 14 Oct. 3057), and as such, currently owns 3 of the largest businesses on planet. Severenson Steel Works was given to Michelle when she reached the age of 25, Procyon Mining Co. and Roxbury Builders were inherited by her following the death of her parents in 3041. Michelle also owns 2,500 acres on the West Side of the capital on which rests a manor house centered in woods. It is from here that she conducts her business dealings, and it is there that the children are being raised. Michelle, being a military brat, does not want her children brought up in a full military environment, though she does not object to them going to the Castle every now and again. Ian and Michelle have 3 children, Christian Andrew (25 yrs old), Michael Davis (24 yrs old, KIA 14 Oct. 3057), and Salome Michelle (27 yrs old), for whom the Kells have been named as godparents.

Ruling Body: "Council of Eleven" controls the daily governing of the planet. They all live and govern from Guilded Halls, though they represent each of the major areas on the planet.

PD/ Militia: Each city maintains its own police force and a small militia. Police forces are equipped with riot gear and some limited anti-mech weaponry. Militias are trained in anti-mech tactics with infernos. Most of the militia units spend their training time working closely with the 1st PHG, while many of them have served in the Guard at some time in their careers.

Industry: Known- The current industry is somewhat limited. Agriculture is the primary industry on "Greene", while mining and machinery productions are mostly found on "Halbiero."

The main agricultural corporations on Procyon are:

1) Collingsworth Farms of Vacor
2) Annabella Dairy of Kaladan
3) Fairday Agro Industries of Junction, Halbiero

The main industrial corporations on Procyon can be found in Northlund, Junction, and the Island City of Maer Colis. Electronics Industries can be found in almost all cities on Procyon, with the largest being in Alseise. Earthwerks-FWL, Inc. still maintains offices on Procyon, though current President/CEO Sir Campbell Harrington may be turning over the company to his only daughter Tatiana Harrington by years end, due to old age.

The main industrial corporations on Procyon are:

1) Severenson Steel Works of Junction
2) Procyon Mining Co. of Cleveburg
3) Roxbury Builders of Northlund

Unknown - After excavating and relocating the Earthwerks sight, in 3030-3031, they were relocated to the Castle on Greene and efforts were made to bring these facilities back on-line. Using equipment from the long abandoned Brigadier Corporation’s Mech production complex at Cleveburg, Durant’s "Steel Falcons", and from Procyon’s own Castle Brians, the 1st PHG was able to reopen the Earthwerks facilities in 3034. These events were carefully guarded against by the 1st PHG. To date it is unknown whether any of the "Great Houses" even know of this unit’s production capabilities. Wolf’s Dragoons, Snord’s Irregulars and the Kell Hounds are the only units outside of the 1st PHG which know of its production lines. To date the 1st PHG has not released any of its productions for sale, either Star League or Clan tech.
