Habit: Priests –    Dark blue monastic robe, red cincture or fringed sash, dark blue mantle with full
                            Michaeline device on left shoulder; small token tonsure, size of a coin.

           Knights – Dark blue surcoat with full Michaeline device on front and back, white belt or
                            fringed sash, same dark blue mantle as priests; small token tonsure, size of a coin.

Device: azure, a cross moline-fitchy argent issuing from a flame gules fimbrated or. (Lay brethren
             and military sergeants wear the badge of a plain white cross miline-fitchy.)

The heads of the great religious orders, generally mitred abbots (which are indicated by an *), enjoy rank equivalent to that of a bishop, and may be called upon to sit in an advisory capacity to the General Synod.
